As a Training and Consultation Worker, you will work closely with schools across North Yorkshire to build confidence, capability and understanding around emotional wellbeing and mental health. You will design and deliver engaging, evidence based training, supporting school staff to respond effectively to low level mental health needs.

Alongside training delivery, you will provide professional consultation, advice and coaching, helping staff to support specific children and young people who may be struggling. You will also respond to children and young people via the ChatHealth messaging service on a rota basis, offering timely, appropriate and compassionate guidance.

Safeguarding is central to this role, and you will actively promote the welfare of children and young people in everything you do.

This is a remote role, with occasional travel to meetings across North YorkshireWorking hours are Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 4.30pm.

Working as part of the Compass Phoenix team, you will collaborate with colleagues and partners across education, health and social care, contributing specialist knowledge that strengthens practice across the service.

Main duties of the job

You believe in the power of early intervention and feel confident supporting professionals to better support children and young people. You bring warmth, integrity and a calm, solution focused approach, even when conversations are complex.

You will bring:

  • A relevant qualification in mental health or working with children and young people such as Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, accredited counselling or an equivalent NVQ Level 4
  • Experience of delivering training or learning packages to professionals
  • Experience of facilitating individual or group work with children and young people
  • Confidence working within multi agency environments
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, consent and emotional wellbeing and mental health
  • The ability to offer clear, evidence based advice and professional consultation
  • A flexible and organised approach to managing your workload
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Experience of evidence based practice, service development or involving children, young people and families in shaping services is helpful but not essential.
