Exciting Opportunity: Train as an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP)

Join Compass and become part of a pioneering team providing vital Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) across Birmingham. We are seeking dedicated individuals to train as Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs), delivering high-quality, evidence-based services that transform the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children, young people, and families.

As a Trainee EMHP, you will undertake a fully supported year of remote study with Exeter University, working towards a Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Practice in Education Settings (Level 7). Alongside your academic journey, youll gain hands-on experience within our service, delivering short-term, low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) informed interventions. These practical skills will equip you to support CYP aged 5-19 with challenges like anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, emotional regulation, and adjusting to change.

At end of your training, youll possess the expertise, knowledge, and confidence to make a lasting impact as a fully qualified EMHP. This role offers the chance to shape young lives while advancing your career in a supportive and innovative environment.

Training salary £ 24,679 p.a. following successful completion of the Post Graduate Diploma salary will rise to Band E starting at £31,031  p.a.

Main duties of the job

Given the need to travel to schools, you will hold a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle. If driving is not an option due to a disability, we will work with you to explore accessible solutions, such as support through Access to Work.
