Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Social Worker to join our Patient and Family Support team at Royal Trinity to cover Maternity for one year.
Working within a team of specialist palliative care social workers and counsellors you will provide a wide range of psychosocial interventions, guidance and support directly to our patients and their children.
Using your extensive skills to offer direct emotional and practical support, legacy interventions, family group work and bereavement support both in the community and in our inpatient unit based in South West London to our patients and their families.
You will have a good working knowledge and experience in Palliative Care and end of life and providing a range of therapeutic interventions.

- To provide biopsychosocial assessments and
therapeutic interventions (emotional support, brief interventions and legacy
activities) to the children and families of patients (pre and post bereavement)
using a range of therapeutic methods, approaches and techniques. To support
parents to navigate complex dilemmas regarding the narratives shared with
children. Service provided at the childs home, on the inpatient unit, and in
the outpatient clinic (face to face, telephone or video call)

the hospice inter-disciplinary team, and the wider community (including
schools) regarding the impact of bereavement and pre-bereavement on children,
and support with how to effectively promote the wellbeing of children in the
context of these needs
