Job summary
We are looking for a clinical, counselling or health psychologist for this interesting and unique role in an exciting and innovative childhood obesity service. This role is mostly fully remote and part of a small and nurturing team with well-balanced case load and direct input into service design. This role will include multi-disciplinary working. The Enhanced Healthy Living Service delivers the following:
1) An evidence-based 6-week parenting programme called Families, Food and Feelings for parents of CYP aged 5-17 who struggle with excess weight/healthy lifestyles. This is run termly as a group and all year round as 1:1 sessions.
2) Quarterly webinars for professionals working in Camden and Islington with CYP/families
3) Coordinates the monthly Camden and Islington childhood obesity multi-disciplinary team meetings. This MDT consists of nutritionists from the healthy living service, representatives from the early help services in Camden and Islington and other guest professionals. The MDT is currently responsible for discussing and managing cases with higher levels of complexity.
4) Consultations to professionals working with CYP who struggle with excess weight
Main duties of the job
With support from the Clinical Director, the post holder will be taking on a leadership role within the service and will be responsible for the following:
1) Managing and supervising the band 7 clinical psychologist, health psychology trainee, and senior assistant psychologist in the service
2) Attending regular quarterly meetings with and reporting back to commissioners of the service and completing internal reports
3) Attending regular meetings with the clinical director to discuss service updates
4) Carrying out pre-group assessments with parents
5) Occasionally Co-facilitating the Families, Food and Feelings parent group
6) Occasionally Conducting reviews with parents who have attended the programme
7) Depending on capacity, offering a small number of 1:1 parent sessions with those parents who cannot attend the group
8) Recording clinical notes from sessions on the online database
9) Occasionally supporting with developing and delivering training to professionals via quarterly webinars
10) Providing consultations to professionals around young peoples mental health
11) Support coordinating the monthly obesity MDT meetings and provide psychological consultation into the MDT.
12) Supporting with service monitoring, evaluation and reporting
