Job summary
City and Hackney GP Confederation was established in October 2014 and is a Community Interest Company and has a membership of 39 GP practices in City and Hackney. The purpose of the GP Confederation is to support member GP practices to improve quality, resilience and stability in primary care, and to develop innovative, cost-effective services that respond to the needs of local people.
The Contracts Administrator role is a part-time post for 2.5 days a week (the working days will be agreed as part of the recruitment process).
The Administrator will provide dedicated administrative support to the Contracts Team in the delivery of their work with GP practices in City & Hackney. The team supports practices to deliver a range of additional services to improve health outcomes of patients living in City & Hackney.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to be trained by the team and develop their administrative and data skills. It will also provide a stepping stone into working in the NHS and understanding the services offered by GP practices.
Main duties of the job
The Administrator will provide dedicated administrative support to the Contracts Team.
This will include scheduling meetings, attending meetings, taking action notes, maintaining schedules and logs and distributing papers as needed.
The Administrator will help organise contract training events, including preparation of flyers and attendance certificates, compiling lists of attendees, setting up the training room (for face to face events), sending Microsoft Team invitations (for virtual events).
The postholder will also run searches on the GP computer system (EMIS) to review practice performance, (full training will be provided).
The person we are looking for will need to be well organised, with an ability to maintain effective record keeping systems. They must have excellent IT skills, in particular they must be able to use excel to a high standard. They must be able to multi-task and be flexible in prioritising their work load. The post holder will need to have good communication skills, both verbal and written.

The GP Confederation is a Community Interest Company with a strong ethos of support both to its member practices and its staff. The Contracts Administrator will be part of a small and friendly Contracts Team, and will take part in regular team meetings and have access to support, guidance and supervision from the one of the Contracts Manager as a line manager, and from other members of the Contracts Team.
Working arrangements are flexible with a mix of home and office working. The GP Confederation offices are located in the Lawson Practice in South Hackney (London N1).
