Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team within our
Practice.
This role offers excellent opportunities
for career development, including progression to a Trainee Nurse Associate or
Registered Nurse Associate position through supported training programmes.
The postholder will work with a diverse range of people from
different cultural and social backgrounds. The ability to work confidently and
effectively in a varied, and sometimes challenging environment is essential.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and
communication skills, and be organised, patient and empathetic. They will have
experience of working in health, social care or other support roles including
direct contact with people, families or carers.
Main duties of the job
Carry out health checks, observations, and basic clinical procedures (e.g. blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, ECGs)
Support vaccination and phlebotomy clinics (training provided if needed)
Assist in long-term condition management (e.g. diabetes, hypertension)
Support patients with health promotion and lifestyle advice
Maintain accurate records using clinical systems (EMIS)
Contribute to the smooth running of the practice and excellent patient experience
