We are looking for a dedicated CWP (Childrens Wellbeing Practitioner) Trainee to join our Mental Health Support Team at West Central London Mind. In this role, you will train to deliver low-intensity, evidence-based interventions to support children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, such as anxiety or low mood. Working under supervision, you will collaborate with schools, families, and our team to promote emotional wellbeing, gaining hands-on experience while completing structured CWP training. This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate individual eager to make a difference in young peoples lives.As a CWP Trainee, you will engage with children, young people, and their families in community and school settings across Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, using guided self-help and other evidence-based approaches. Main duties of the job
You will:
- Provide early intervention interventions based on principles of CBT, to children and young people in schools and colleges who have presentations of anxiety and depression.
- Work closely with other services providing support to young people and with members of wider WCL Mind staff team.
- Work with people across different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary.
You are:
- Skilled and knowledgeable in basic principles of CBT
- Passionate about supporting and empowering young people to manage their mental health need
- Able to work cohesively and collaboratively within a team setting
- Someone with a wide range of life experience
- An effective communicator, tailoring communication to each client in a bespoke way.
- Reflective and adaptive in your approach
- Organised and able to show effective diary management a busy clinical caseload, manage administrative requirements and attend meetings
