Job summary
We're looking for a Peer Support Worker to join, our new Adults Peer Support Team in Wandsworth!
Mind in Brent, Wandsworth and Westminster is the lead provider for Wandsworth Community Peer Support Service which is run in partnership with Southwest London & St Georges Mental Health Trust as part of the Transformation program. We are working with partners from the voluntary sector in Wandsworth to support people with SMI (severe mental illness) to maintain and improve their mental health and wellbeing through Peer Support. Our partners are Wandsworth Carers Network, Sound Minds and Mushkil Aasaan.
Main duties of the job
Hold a caseload of clients and deliver a wide range of support and person-centred interventions, including peer-led interventions, group support, one to one intervention and signposting.
Use their own lived mental health experience in supporting others through their own recovery journey.
Able to carry out assessments and work in a goal setting approach.
Be able to set boundaries whilst working in an empathic, person-centred approach.
You should be enthusiastic and self-motivated and must be able to work on your own initiative.
Work well in a team and be passionate about motivating and coaching those with mental health issues.

You will join a friendly, dedicated team that works hard to support people with mental health issues in their own community, and you will have access to training and support.
This role is initially offered on a two-year basis and is subject to funding.
