Retail Maintenance Technician
Hours: Part-Time - 21 hours per week
Wednesday + 2 other days to be agreed at interview
Salary:£27,126 pro rata, per annum (includes £1,500 pro rata, annual allowance)
- Annual salary and allowance shown are both based on a 35 hour per week, full time equivalent (FTE)
- Final annual salary and allowance will be calculated on a pro rata basis to reflect 21 hours per week contracted hours
*A Full UK Driving License and use of own car is essential for this role*
Main duties of the job
Are you:

- Experience as a time served tradesperson i.e. carpenter, electrician?

Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out minor plumbing repairs, carpentry, building work and general maintenance
- Administrative record keeping
- Sharing knowledge of Health and Safety
- Assisting with property inspections and contractor management
The role:
- The role requires travel around Cambridgeshire and East Anglia providing support to EACHs Retail Estate

Job description
Job responsibilities
- Review the Facilities Maintenance Log and individual
email account at least daily, manage/complete all reactive Repair or Request
tasks within the predetermined timeframe, ordering parts required as necessary
with FSM and update Log.
- Manage/ complete all proactive
Planned Preventative Maintenance and Routine Maintenance tasks in accordance
with their designated frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, etc), as per the
Maintenance Schedule and ensure all
reports/checklists are completed, reviewed and all required actions reported to
Facilities Site Manager
- Undertake Property inspections in conjunction with the Retail
Facilities And Maintenance Manager,
identifying any issues, repairs or
advisory works or recommendations for the general upkeep of the property.
- Carry out minor plumbing repairs, carpentry, building work
and general maintenance.
- Assist with maintenance tasks with new shops prior to
opening.
- Change light bulbs, check appliances and carry out such
minor electrical repairs as are within the post holders limits and legislation.
- Complete all decorative and painting works as
required to ensure all building areas maintain a fresh, clean, modern look.
- Undertake external maintenance and caretaking, such as
painting, gardening, fence panels, & gutters as appropriate to ensure the
necessary upkeep of the grounds and ensuring safe access and exit.
- Plan the use of
volunteers to assist in the maintenance of buildings and work with them in developing their skills and knowledge.
- Advise on the necessity of bringing in outside
contractors and to supervise their work as far as appropriate, completing all
necessary paperwork/checks on arrival on site prior to the commencement of
their work.
- Undertake Administrative record-keeping in relation to
maintenance or records.
- Research replacement parts
required to resolve plant/equipment faults, place order for parts with
Facilities Site Manager, travel to supplier stores to collect items as
necessary/ requested.
- Assist Retail Managers with fire emergencies and
evacuation procedures, testing and setting of smoke/heat detectors/ Emergency
lighting/fire extinguishers as required by legislation and record in fire log
book.
- In conjunction with the Retail Facilities And Maintenance Manager
conduct fire safety and H&S checks and audits for each shop.
- Act as nominated Fire Officer and undertake fire safety
responsibilities as detailed in the operational policies and procedures
manuals. This will include carrying out
statutory checks, tests and maintenance of records.
- Train retail staff in fire procedures and undertake 6
monthly fire drills and annual instruction of staff.
- Undertake any other duties as
are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and
its grading, as requested by your line manager or his/her higher level of
authority.
