Job summary

East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) is looking for a compassionate and analytical Individual Giving and Legacy Officer to join our Fundraising Directorate.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy and rewarding fundraising team. You will deliver exceptional supporter experience, analyse fundraising data, and while making a meaningful impact in the lives of children, young people, and families across East Anglia.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing excellent customer service for individual giving and legacy supporters including: handling telephone enquiries, responding to emails, updating or database and ensuring all queries are answered promptly and professionally.
  • Drafting supporter communications in an appreciative and thoughtful manner.
  • Supporting the Individual Giving Manager in developing and delivering fundraising appeals

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • To support the Individual Giving Manager in developing and delivering fundraising appeals and managing EACH's Regular Giving, Cash and Lottery programme
  • To engage with prospective Legacy pledgers and support the Legacy marketing programme
  • To help to design, deliver and improve on stewardship journeys for new and existing supporters that increase long-term support and lifetime value
  • To support in print and digital campaign delivery alongside EACH's Marketing & Communications team
  • To ensure Individual Giving content is effective and up-to-date on all EACH communication channels
  • To monitor campaign performance and KPIs and analyse results against targets
  • To provide first-class customer service to EACH's Individual Giving supporters via telephone, email and website enquiries
  • To ensure enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner and to communicate with supporters compassionately and effectively
  • To cover for the Supporter Care team when required
  • To update supporter details on the fundraising database accurately and promptly
  • To handle sensitive data such as bank information confidentially and securely
  • To act at all times in accordance with all internal and external Data Protection regulations

Qualifications

Essential

  • Microsoft package knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Understanding of Data Protection

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Gift Aid, Charity Law, Fundraising Code of Practice, and other relevant marketing or fundraising standards across the UK

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of project coordination including delivery of campaigns within agreed timescales and budgets
  • Experience of collaboratively working with colleagues across departments / organisation
  • Experience of using a database
  • Experience of dealing with customers face to face, via email and letter, and over the phone

Desirable

  • Use of a fundraising database or charity CRM
  • Understanding of digital platforms for delivery and marketing of
  • projects/campaigns
  • Charity experience
  • Direct Marketing experience

Skills & Abilities

  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills to clearly and
  • concisely persuade.
  • Numerical skills needed in order to understand and analyse data
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload to meet deadlines

  • Able to speak to a wide range of stakeholders
