East Lancashire Hospice is a registered charity, founded in 1984. We support and care for patients with a life limiting illness, their families and others close to them.
We have a wonderful opportunity for a forward thinking, enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse to join our friendly and supportive Inpatient Unit Team. The successful Staff Nurse will be responsible for the assessment planning and evaluation of effective programmes of care and the subsequent delivery of care patients, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice at all times. You will be required to maintain clear accurate documentation, attend meetings as appropriate and liaise with external healthcare professionals. Due to the nature of care we provide, you will be expected to prioritise your own workload and direct as appropriate the work load of others based upon patient need ensuring patients and their loved ones receive the highest standards of care at all times.

Main duties of the job
You will demonstrate excellent standards of assessment, care planning and evaluation of interventions to ensure the needs and choices of people accessing hospice services are met.
You will have substantial experience of working within a caring role and have supported patients with life limiting illness. With good communication skill you will be able to work as part of a team and relate with understanding and sensitivity to those experiencing life changing illness.

About us
In-line with Aprils' pay increase, as a Staff Nurse, your salary is £34,167 - £35,603 dependant on experience inclusive of enhancements from commencement in post. You will work on a roster basis, which will include weekends, Bank Holidays and rotation to nights. You can continue to pay into the NHS pension if you already do so and/or have made contributions in the last 12 months or you have the option to join the private employee / employer contributory pension scheme.
