About the roleYou will be part of a team delivering support and interventions to individuals impacted by drug and alcohol use. Your role will focus on the general health needs of service users as well as supporting the team in the delivery of appropriate interventions, designed to promote recovery.
Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- To offer harm reduction advice and information including overdose prevention, wound awareness, and naloxone.
- To carry out DBST, Hepatitis B vaccination and referral for Hepatitis C treatment if required.
- To carry out Healthcare Assessments for new and people already in services.
- Use appropriate infection control procedures and maintain work areas in each clinical room so that they are clean, safe and free from hazards reporting any potential risks identified.
- Record information and activities undertaken with service users in an accurate and timely manner, maintaining confidentiality and data security at all times.

- A knowledge and understanding of substance misuse and recovery
- Experience of managing, planning, and prioritising your own workload, delivering work of a high standard
- An understanding of safeguarding
- Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills
- The ability to work well in a team environment alongside a range of people and organisations.
