Main duties of the job

Key Duties

  • Work collaboratively with service users, families and professionals to support care planning and recovery goals.

  • Deliver wellbeing-focused, psychologically informed interventions under clinical supervision.

  • Support service users with practical strategies such as behavioural activation, problem-solving, sleep support and emotional regulation.

  • Monitor progress, maintain accurate records and report changes in wellbeing to the wider team.

  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings to review care and treatment plans.

  • Carry out risk assessments and contribute to risk management planning.

  • Build positive, supportive relationships with service users while promoting dignity, respect and choice.

  • Liaise with health, social care and community partners to ensure coordinated support.

  • Engage in regular supervision, training and professional development.

As a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner (MHWP), you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting people experiencing severe mental health difficulties. You will work closely with service users, their families and partner professionals to coordinate care and deliver psychologically informed wellbeing interventions.

Under the supervision of qualified clinicians, you will support individuals to improve their wellbeing through evidence-based approaches aligned with cognitive behavioural principles. This includes supporting people to develop coping strategies, build confidence, manage emotions and work towards recovery goals.
