We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and committed Therapy Service Manager to join our multi-disciplinary team here at Chaseley. We are looking for someone who is passionate and strives to make a difference to the lives of individuals affected by a disability. Our Therapy and Clinical teams work together to deliver a high standard of assessment and interventions to support our residents and outpatient clients to develop their independence and daily living skills.
Main duties of the job
- Manage, lead & develop a co-ordinated Physiotherapy service, aligned to programmes for maintenance or rehabilitation of individuals with diverse presentations of complex physical & psychological conditions.
- Lead the teams clinical diagnosis & develop treatment plans for this complex patient group incorporating neuro-disabilities
- Oversee discharges back into the community as part of a delivering comprehensive, quality & goal focussed Therapy interventions
- Identify opportunities to develop & grow the service to generate additional income & incorporate Therapeutic Activities as part of our commercial range of services available to residents & the Local Community
- To supervise, educate, assess the performance of a professional Therapy team including student placements. Continuously monitoring & improving the teams performance to align to quality focussed frameworks
- Lead NHS quality contract review meetings
- Undertake appropriate assessments with Residents, their families, & Funders, making recommendations to maximise individual support
- Establish & maintain effective professional relationships with external colleagues, promoting the service & opportunities
- Participate in MDT meetings & case conferences
- To contribute to the development & review of local policies, standards, & guidelines
- To be responsible for the supervision, professional development & competency of the team
- Oversee the running of services to all outpatient attendees

Operational
- To be responsible for the delivery of an organised and
professional Therapy service to funded residents and external clients with the
aim of increasing and maximising the attendance numbers. Reviewing and adapting the availability of
services across seven days a week for residents and the local community.
- To be responsible for the safe and effective delivery
of all aspects of Therapy services, completing all risk assessments, care plans
and programmes of delivery as required
- To undertake full and comprehensive assessment of a
range of patients using advanced clinical reasoning.
- Undertake postural assessments, interventions and
associated record keeping as part of the highest levels of support, care and
rehabilitation.
- To maintain all
professional records and clinical supervision within the team.
- To always maintain confidentiality.
- Work in a
collaborative and co-operative manner with all members of the multi-disciplinary
team ensuring that good communications are maintained.
Management Responsibilities
- Manage, supervise,
and direct the work of the Therapy Department to optimise maximum therapy
delivery services and optimum goal achievements as part of a quality service. To
continually review and check competency.
- To
ensure that all external clients have contracts and their goals are reviewed
regularly
- To
ensure that all residents and outpatient attendees have up to date risk
assessments and care plans in place that are evaluated in line with Trust
policy.
- To be
responsible for the cost effective and efficient use of all human resources and
supplies.
- Ensure
that all regulations are upheld in line with Healthcare Professionals Council,
The Care Act, Health & Safety Executive and CQC Care Home regulations and
requirements.
- Ensure
that all Chaseley policies are upheld
- Ensure
complaints are handled in a professional manner, without bias and in accordance
with the Complaints Procedure.
- To
attend meetings as appropriate both internally and externally, sometimes
outside the normal working week and hours
- Lead on
discussions and reporting at Therapy contact review meetings
- To be a part
of the Senior Management Group, providing support for all Trusts procedures. Attending Trustee Board Meetings and
providing Board report information when requested.

- In
conjunction with the HR/Training Department co-ordinate the duties and
supervision of volunteers

the Registered Manager and the wider clinical teams in maintaining a learning
environment

remain fully compliant with all Trust mandatory training requirements.

- Keep up
to date with professional registration requirements, identifying own learning
needs and accessing training as required

and ensure the service remains up to date with all developments within Chaseley
and the wider care settings.
