Thank you for your interest in the position of Inpatient and Hospice at Home Manager at Pendleside Hospice.

Due to an upcoming retirement, we have an opportunity for a qualified Registered Nurses (NMC registered) to our Inpatient and Hospice at Home team.

Our Inpatient Unit and Hospice at Home service are teams of dedicated registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants who provide care 24hrs a day in the patients own home or on the IPU.

Patients are referred to the Inpatient Unit for symptom management, rehabilitation or end of life care with 1/3 of patients being discharged home or to a long-term place of care. The Hospice at Home service provides palliative and end of life care to patients in their own home (including care homes). Both teams have dedicated day and night teams.

This role requires you to have strong leadership skills, be able to think outside the box and deliver holistic care to patients and their carers. You will be an ambassador for the Hospice and network with different community groups, on occasion, to promote Hospice services and collaborate on new initiatives.

  • Ensure medicines are managed in accordance with all internal policies, procedures and standard operating procedures and the misuse of drugs act 1971 and the controlled drugs (supervision and management and use) regulations 2013.

  • Promote evidenced based practice in order to maximise the patients quality of life.

  • Participate in the daily handovers, referrals meetings and weekly Multi Disciplinary Team meetings

  • Contribute to the on-going development of operational policies, procedures and clinical guidelines ensuring their implementation, review and monitoring.
