Job summary
As a Healthcare Assistant you will work closely with our nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver personalised care and maintain the highest standards of comfort and dignity for our patients. From assisting with daily activities to offering a listening ear, you will go above and beyond to ensure that every individual receives the attention and support they deserve.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of a Team in Saint Catherine’s in our Inpatient Unit and Fast Track to help staff care for patients and their families with life-limiting illnesses.
To work closely with the nursing staff and multi-disciplinary team.
To provide support to patients with personal care, optimising their independence and liaising with other members in the team to provide necessary support for the patients including reporting any changes in their condition to a senior member of staff.

- Monitor patients closely and report any changes in their condition promptly to senior staff members.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and observations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, fostering a supportive and empathetic environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to support patients and their families during challenging times.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
