Job summary

As the Education and Development Lead, you will spearhead the planning, development, delivery, and governance of education programmes essential for our workforce's growth and effectiveness. Your responsibilities will include:

Strategic Leadership - Lead and oversee the comprehensive strategy for education, training, and professional development, ensuring alignment with the hospice's mission and goals.

Partnership Building - Cultivate and nurture partnerships with external organizations to enhance the delivery of top-tier palliative and end-of-life education. Leverage existing relationships with esteemed institutions such as Hull and York Medical School, Coventry University, University of York, and York St John University.

Advocacy and Promotion - Represent the hospice's work on regional and national platforms. Spearhead the revival of a bi-annual national specialist palliative care conference in collaboration with local partners, thereby elevating the hospice's profile and impact on a broader scale.

Are you committed to shaping the future of palliative and end-of-life care through education and development? Saint Catherine's Hospice is seeking a dynamic and visionary Education and Development Lead to join our team.

Our Executive Team, led by the CEO who joined Saint Catherine’s Hospice in March 2023, have spent a considerable amount of time looking at how we as a Hospice are fit for the future. Our main commitment is and always will be, providing the best possible care and quality of life for those with life limiting illnesses. We are starting the year with a new approach in how we are achieving our goals and ultimately enhancing the services we provide. Therefore, in the run up to our 40th year we are excited to be advertising a number of new and replacement roles to join our growing team.

Your role

You will be an experienced nurse with a demonstrated history in palliative care, you will utilise your deep understanding of palliative care to drive educational initiatives that enhance the quality of care provided.   Have strong leadership skills with a proven track record in educational programme development coupled with experience in monitoring, evaluating and auditing to measure the effectiveness.  You will have the ability and demonstratable experience to engage and forge robust relationships with key stakeholders, fostering collaboration and support for our educational endeavours.
