Main duties of the job
We are seeking 3 qualified and experienced childrens nurses to join our Care Team. Working as part of our clinical team, you will provide and ensure a high standard of holistic care to children with life limiting/life threatening conditions, to include opportunities for children to experience play, social interaction and learning. You will deliver child-focused, family centred palliative and end of life care, alongside members of the interdisciplinary team.
To fulfil the role effectively you will be NMC registered and have relevant clinical experience and be able to work flexibly and collaboratively across the care services.
From 1st April 2022 all direct care provision and/or close contact roles at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice require full COVID vaccination as a Condition of Deployment. The role of Nurse falls into this category.
About us
Childrens hospices are not the places they used to be- gone are the days when we could have been considered a cul-de-sac of nursing. Today, we care for babies, children and young people with a vast range of conditions and technology dependence, alongside supporting their families. This means our care team need to be as skilled and competent as hospital-based colleagues. Nurses are at the centre of our model of care, and were proud to be a nurse-led, interdisciplinary care team.
Bluebell Wood is a great place to truly be able to care for and get to know children and families, while having the chance to develop specialist and advanced level skills in childrens palliative care. These include clinical, communication and leadership skills.
Our vision at Bluebell Wood is to make every day the best it can be for children and families in our care, helping them to live fulfilling lives full of love and laughter, and to support them in making magical memories. We achieve this by offering families short breaks, symptom management and end-of-life care in our hospice and the community- at home, at school, or wherever a family need us.
