Job summary

Thanks to ARRS funding, we are delighted to offer an opportunity for a recently qualified GP to join our supportive and welcoming practice team.

Were looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated GP to work 3 sessions per week, to include 2 sessions on Thursdays. This is a fantastic chance to develop your career in a nurturing environment with a strong focus on teamwork and professional growth.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations with a mixture of telephone or face to face, home visits, checking and signing prescriptions, dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner.

Contribute to successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.

  • Provide high quality patient care including prevention, screening, treatment, management of chronic conditions and health promotion
  • Carry out face to face, telephone and video consultations and undertake home visits
  • Generate, check and sign acute and repeat prescriptions in-line with practice policy
  • Keep clear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes and patient records to agreed standards and in-line with practice policies
  • Prescribe generically whenever appropriate and in accordance with the Practice formulary, commissioning and national guidance
  • Demonstrate a commitment and contribution to achievement of the highest possible quality standards such as the QOF, prescribing targets and other agreed performance Indicator targets
  • Demonstrate a commitment and contribution to clinical governance processes including significant event review
  • Demonstrate a commitment to life-long learning, audit and evidence-based best practice
  • Contribute to evaluation and audit within the practice

About us

We are a well-established practice with a patient list of approximately 9,800. Our team includes 4 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, a Pharmacy Technician, a dedicated Nursing team, a supportive Management team, and an excellent Admin/Reception staff.

As a training practice, we host monthly in-house educational sessions and actively participate in the quarterly Surrey Heath Educational Day (SHED). Clinical staff are entitled to one week of study leave per year, pro-rata.

We hold daily referrals meetings as well as a mid-morning coffee and clinical discussions meeting. Our practice works collaboratively with the Primary Care Network and neighbouring practices.

We value team wellbeing and regularly organise social and wellbeing events, such as our annual Summer BBQ and Christmas party. Free on-site parking is available, and we offer membership to the NHS Pension Scheme.
