SEEN is the name chosen by children and young people to describe the work of the centre and the impact they wanted from the outcomes. This is an exciting time for SEEN, with notable achievements and learning which has provided Barnardo's with comprehensive insights to build on. A new theory of change is being shaped, and new programmes of work are in development to amplify impact, and align with the new organisational corporate strategy and the external environment Barnardo's is operating in.

Main duties of the job

This role is at the very heart of our work, identifying and leading on developing, with others, strategic partnerships with a focus on anti-racist systems change and leading and embedding internal cultural change through managing a high performing team which coproduces solutions with stakeholders across the organisation and with children of African, Asian and Caribbean heritage. This post requires strategic skills and thought leadership capabilities, alongside commitment to high standards and quality responsible for ensuring the integrity, governance and efficiency of the service / department.

  • Experience of working with diverse communities to coproduce change
  • Developing strategies including strategic partnerships and linking long-range vision and goals to practice.
  • Extensive experience as a manager in a Health, Social Care, Youth Work or Education setting.
  • Experience of establishing and successfully maintaining effective professional networks and matrix management.
  • Experience of promoting and managing risk in a corporate/broader context and ensuring the management of organisational reputation.
  • Experience in scoping, delivery and management of focused project
  • groups/initiatives to achieve required objectives with quality and to timescale.
  • Demonstrable experience of the analysis of data and clear and concise
  • communication with children, young people and families, colleagues, volunteers,managers and key stakeholders at all organisational levels both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to balance pace and timely delivery of work, with requirement for thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Experience of financial monitoring and reporting.
  • Competent IT user.
