Job summary

Bradford Care Alliance (BCA) is seeking experienced and motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) or Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) to join our bank workforce, working flexibly across a range of BCA services.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within multiple care settings, including the Primary Care Streaming Service (PCSS) based at Bradford Royal Infirmary, the Enhanced Access Service, and other BCA-led healthcare initiatives.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals presenting with undifferentiated or complex needs. Working autonomously within professional boundaries, you will assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate care while demonstrating advanced clinical reasoning and safe decision-making.

The postholder will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with GPs, nurses, and other clinicians to ensure seamless care pathways for patients. This is an ideal role for practitioners who value flexibility, professional autonomy, and clinical variety within a collaborative, innovative organisation.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation for patients with a range of acute and long-term presentations.

  • Work autonomously within professional boundaries while maintaining collaborative relationships with the GP on duty and wider multidisciplinary teams.

  • Participate in the Primary Care Streaming Service, Enhanced Access, and other BCA programmes, supporting patients across different care settings.

  • Prescribe safely and appropriately in line with professional standards and organisational policy (if qualified).

  • Manage patients presenting with complex or urgent conditions, initiating and coordinating timely investigations and interventions.

  • Support patients in health promotion, lifestyle management, and self-care, promoting positive long-term health outcomes.

  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records consistent with NMC/HCPC and legal requirements.

  • Contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives across BCA.

  • Supervise and support colleagues, students, and junior practitioners, promoting a culture of learning and reflective practice.

  • Adhere to all relevant clinical governance, safeguarding, and risk management policies.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism when covering shifts across different BCA services and sites.
