Job responsibilities
Acorns Children's Hospice is seeking a Children, Young Person and Family Service Lead to inspire and lead the Family Services Team in our Three Counties Hospice, Worcester. You will ensure that our family support services are centred around the needs of children, young people, and families and help to shape and develop future service provision.
About the Role
At Acorns Childrens Hospice we offer specialist palliative care and support for children and their families across the West Midlands. We are there wherever and whenever they need us, in the hospice, community and at home. Our aim at Acorns is to help families feel equipped to cope at every stage of their childs life with dedicated teams offering psychological, emotional and practical support.
As Children, Young Person and Family Service Lead, you will
- Provide leadership and operational management to the Family Service of Support Specialists, Support Assistants, Social Workers, Psychotherapists and Community Partnership Workers
- Ensure that all family support services are child, young person and family centred and are culturally sensitive and appropriate
- Collaboratively conduct initial holistic assessments of children, young people and their families
- Ensure user involvement in the delivery of services to ensure that feedback informs service developments and improvement in quality
- Contribute to the wider health economy through collaboration and networking
- Support specific projects and work to shape and develop future services
- Facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate policies, protocols, guidelines and standards ensuring that they meet current practice and professional regulations
About You
- Registered with a relevant professional body (e.g. HCPC, NMC or Social Work England)
- Experience of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams to meet strategic outcomes
- Experience of managing caseloads
- Experience of systemic practice
What We Offer
- £46,000 to £52,000 per annum
- 37.5 hours per week

You need to be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this role. We are committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and therefore any successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check for children and will be asked to provide two satisfactory references. In addition, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of immunisation against specific diseases or confirm their willingness to receive the necessary vaccinations.
