Job summary

The Community Change Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of the Compassionate Sheffield Programme, working to reduce inequalities and improve experiences of death, dying and grief across the city. This role will drive meaningful cultural change by building strong partnerships with communities, organisations and system partners, and by delivering high-impact projects aligned to the programmes vision, mission and values. The postholder will provide inspirational leadership, oversee programme governance and resources, and ensure that engagement around sensitive and emotive topics is inclusive, confident and impactful.

Main duties of the job

Lead the strategic planning, coordination and delivery of projects across the Compassionate Sheffield Programme. Build, maintain and strengthen partnerships with community groups, voluntary organisations, statutory partners and wider system stakeholders. Lead stakeholder engagement and communication to support openness, collaboration and shared purpose across Sheffield. Oversee the coordination and delivery of the annual Compassionate Sheffield Festival and other key engagement activities. Provide leadership and direction to the Programme Team, fostering learning, development and dispersed leadership. Monitor, evaluate and report on programme impact, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with agreed KPIs. Ensure robust programme governance, including risk management, quality assurance, budget oversight and commissioning activity as required. Represent the programme at meetings, events and community forums, including occasional evening and weekend work.
