Job summary

As a Healthcare Assistant at St Lukes Hospice, you will work closely with Registered Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality, person-centred care to patients with life-limiting illnesses. You will play a key role in supporting patients and their families throughout their palliative care journey, ensuring dignity, comfort, and compassion are at the heart of all you do. This is a deeply rewarding role where you will make a genuine difference to the lives of those in your care.

Main duties of the job

You will assist with the physical, emotional, and spiritual care needs of patients and their carers under the supervision of Registered Nurses. Duties include personal care, safe patient handling, supporting family members, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and contributing to effective communication and record-keeping. You will also provide support after death care and participate in the induction of new staff. Compassion, empathy, and professionalism are essential.
