Job summary
As a Healthcare Assistant at St Lukes Hospice, you will be an integral part of our In-Patient Centre team, delivering compassionate, high-quality care to patients with life-limiting illnesses and supporting their families. Under the supervision of registered nurses, youll provide holistic care that respects the dignity and individuality of each patient.
Your role will involve assisting with personal care, monitoring patients conditions, maintaining a safe clinical environment, and supporting families during some of lifes most challenging times. Youll also have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge through training and contribute to the values-driven culture of Sheffields leading hospice.

Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Assistant at St Lukes Hospice, you will play a vital role in supporting patients and their families through compassionate, high-quality care. Your main duties will include:
Patient Care:
Assist with personal care tasks, including hygiene, mobility, and nutritional needs, while maintaining patient dignity and comfort.
Provide holistic care that addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Clinical Support:
Monitor and report changes in patients conditions to the registered nursing team.
Ensure the clinical environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained, following health and safety guidelines.
Handle equipment and resources efficiently, reporting any issues promptly.
Team Collaboration:
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver individualized care plans for patients.
Support new staff members during their induction process.
Contribute to a positive and harmonious team environment.
Support for Families and Carers:
Provide emotional support and guidance to patients families and carers during challenging times.
Assist in the care of patients at end-of-life and offer support after a patients passing.
