Main duties of the job

Your role as a Senior Healthcare Assistant

The Senior Healthcare Assistant will guide and inspire a team, contribute to service development, and provide high-quality, person-centred care at one of lifes most important stages.

This Senior Healthcare Assistant role is community based, throughout Harrogate and Hambleton and Richmond. You will be required to have access to your own vehicle and have a current driving license.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide support with daily operations of the HOME Service, including receiving referrals and rota building.
  • Supervise and mentor HCA staff, supporting teamwork and professional development.
  • Deliver training and promote competency-based practice within the team.
  • Implement best practice in specialist palliative care.
  • Lead holistic assessments and individualised care planning with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary teams.
  • Recognise changes in patient symptoms to inform our MDT colleagues where necessary.
