Job summary

We are recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to work in the Day Hospice Unit at LOROS. The aim of our care is to provide high quality care to patients, their families and friends addressing physical, psychological, social and spiritual care needs. The focus of our care is to enhance the quality of life where possible and for those dying, to support them and their loved ones.

Main duties of the job

Applicants must be educated to NVQ level 2 or equivalent in healthcare and have previous experience of caring for patients requiring palliative care. You must be committed to the delivery of consistent high-quality care and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.

The Healthcare Assistant provides clinical and non-clinical support to the multi-disciplinary team in promoting and maintaining a high standard of individualised patient care, taking into account the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of patients and those close to them.

A Healthcare Assistants duties are always delegated and supervised by a registered professional. The Healthcare Assistant also has the responsibility for ensuring that they do not carry out any delegated duty for which they does not possess the necessary competence/skills.
