Job summary

Part time permanent role: 15 hours per week over 2-3 days (to be agreed).

The Occupational Therapist will work as an experienced member of the Enablement Therapy team.

Clinically responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of bespoke Occupational Therapy intervention to provide timely holistic, palliative care assessments across the Inpatient, Day Therapy and Outpatient Services for LOROS working jointly on therapeutic goals and interventions with the Enablement Physiotherapists and Senior Therapy Assistant.

Main duties of the job

They will participate in the ongoing development of these services, alongside active participation in the provision of education and clinical supervision of staff and students.

Support and clinical supervision will be provided by the Enablement Team Therapy Lead.

  • - Experience of working with patients with palliative care needs.
  • - Experience in statutory sector hospice/community.
  • - Ability to use initiative and be adaptable.
  • - Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD)
  • - Knowledge of Palliative and End of life care.
  • - Able to prioritise work.
  • - Good decisive and organisational skills.
  • - Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.
  • - Delegation and supervision skills for junior members of the team and -students.
  • - IT / computer / keyboard skills.
