Spiritual Care Practitioner
18 hours per week( May include occasional on call work )£28,300 - £30,430 per annum full time which is £13,584 - £14,606 pro rata
This is a fixed term contract initially for 1 year
St Oswalds Hospice is a renowned hospice dedicated to providing compassionate end-of-life care to individuals and their families. Our mission is to provide specialist palliative and end of life care to adults, children and young people in the north east of England.
We are looking to recruit a Spiritual Care Practitioner to join our Spiritual Care Team.
Times of ill health, loss and uncertainty can be very stressful and distressing for both the individual concerned and for their families and friends. Many people find it helpful to be able to talk to someone who will listen in confidence and without judgement. The Spiritual Care team at St. Oswalds is there for people of all faiths and none. We are part of the Hospices multi-disciplinary care team, providing spiritual and religious care for our patients and their families.We are also committed to raising awareness of our services and encouraging open conversations about death and dying within our local communities.
We are looking for a compassionate and committed person to provide high quality spiritual and emotional care to patients and their families.

Main duties of the job
Main Tasks:
- To support patients and families on our Adult Inpatient Unit and within our Focus on Living Centre, providing active listening and spiritual care.
- To support the Teams work within local communities promoting open conversations about death and dying and increasing awareness about Hospice care.
- To participate in other events such as Remembrance/Memorial Services.
- To attend team meetings.
- To maintain documentation as required.
