Job summary
Brook Lane Surgery is seeking a compassionate, motivated and proactive Nursing Associate to join our General Practice nursing team. The post holder will support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care to our registered population, working under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or General Practitioner.
The Nursing Associate will contribute to a wide range of clinical services including routine nursing procedures, long-term condition management, health promotion and preventative care. The role will be undertaken in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) defined scope of practice, Practice policies and procedures, and professional standards at all times.
Main duties of the job
Deliver delegated nursing care and clinical interventions in accordance with Practice protocols and proceduresUndertake basic clinical assessments, observations and monitoring, escalating concerns appropriately to a registered clinicianProvide wound care including dressings and simple wound managementPerform venepuncture, ECGs, urinalysis and blood pressure monitoring where trained and competentSupport chronic disease management clinics (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension)Administer injections and vaccinations in accordance with training, Patient Specific Directions (PSDs), Patient Group Directions (PGDs), and under appropriate supervisionUndertake NHS Health ChecksSupport infection prevention and control procedures within the Practice

- Ability to work within own scope of practice and under clinical supervision

- Competent IT skills with confidence using clinical systems (e.g. EMIS)
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care
