This position combines frontline clinical work with strategic leadership, ensuring the practice maintains excellence in patient outcomes, safety, and service innovation.
As a senior member of the multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Lead GP provides oversight, mentorship, and guidance to colleagues, including salaried GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals. They act as a key link between the practice, the Primary Care Network (PCN), local ICB, and community services, contributing to integrated care and new models of delivery.
Main duties of the job
The role involves:
- Clinical Leadership:Driving best practice, governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Strategic Input:Supporting the Practice Manager and Partners in planning, workforce development, and implementation of health priorities.
- Mentorship & Education:Providing supervision and professional development for clinicians and trainees.
- Innovation & Improvement:Leading audits, reviewing policies, and enhancing patient experience and efficiency.
- Representation:Acting as a clinical representative in PCN meetings, multidisciplinary forums, and local collaborations.
