Job summary

The Old School Surgery is looking to recruit a Dispensary Manager to lead and support the dispensary service within the practice.

This role is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the dispensary, ensuring patients receive accurate and timely dispensing services while maintaining high standards of medicines management.

Working closely with GP partners and the wider practice team, the Dispensary Manager will support the organisation of dispensary processes, stock management and team coordination to ensure the dispensary runs smoothly and efficiently.

The Old School Surgery is a friendly, partner-led GP practice serving around 7,500 patients in Stoney Stanton. Our dispensary plays an important role in supporting patient care and works closely with clinicians and administrative teams to ensure prescriptions are processed and dispensed safely.

We are looking for an organised and proactive individual who enjoys working within a team environment and who wants to help ensure patients receive a reliable and well-run dispensing service.

Main duties of the job

The Dispensary Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the practice dispensary, ensuring medicines are dispensed safely, accurately and efficiently.

The role includes supporting and coordinating the work of dispensary staff, managing stock and ordering processes, and ensuring the dispensary operates in line with regulatory and clinical governance requirements.

Working closely with GPs, patient co-ordinators and administrative teams, the Dispensary Manager will help ensure prescriptions are processed effectively and that the dispensary contributes to the smooth running of the practice.

The role will also support the ongoing organisation and improvement of dispensary processes to help maintain an efficient and reliable service for patients.
