Job summary

The Old School Surgery is looking to recruit an Admin Manager to lead and develop the administrative functions of our practice.

This role will oversee the Patient Co-ordinator, administrative and secretarial teams, ensuring the flow of communication and administrative work across the practice is organised, efficient and patient focused.

Working closely with the Operations Manager and other team leads, the Admin Manager will help bring administrative teams together to create clear, joined-up processes that support clinicians, nurses and patients. The role will play an important part in shaping how administrative communication works across the practice, helping ensure requests and information are handled efficiently and consistently.

We are looking for someone who enjoys improving systems, supporting teams and creating well organised processes that help a busy practice run smoothly.

The Old School Surgery is a friendly, partner-led practice serving 7,500 patients in Stoney Stanton. We are continuing to strengthen our team structure to support high quality patient care and effective communication across the practice.

Main duties of the job

The Admin Manager will oversee the administrative functions and teams within the practice, including Patient Co-ordinators, administrative staff and secretarial support, ensuring that administrative work and communication across the practice runs smoothly.

The role focuses on improving the flow of administrative processes that support patient care. This includes ensuring that patient enquiries, requests and clinical communication are handled pro-actively, efficiently and directed to the appropriate team member or service.

Working closely with the other team leads, the Admin Manager will help develop joined-up administrative systems that support clinicians, nurses and patients, helping ensure the practice delivers a responsive and well organised service.

The post holder will also support staff development within the administrative teams, encouraging collaboration and ensuring a do it once, do it right, ethos.

We pride ourselves on providing high-quality patient care through strong teamwork and collaboration across the whole practice. Our multidisciplinary team includes GP partners, salaried GPs, practice nurses, healthcare assistants, patient co-ordinators, administrative staff and a dispensary team. We also work closely with a wider clinical team including clinical pharmacists, physiotherapists, a paramedic practitioner, midwife, mental health practitioners and social prescribers through our Primary Care Network.
