Job summary
Our friendly and supportive team is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join our well-established nursing team, currently made up of five nurses. The successful candidate must have experience of working in a general practice setting and experience of infection prevention and control measures.
Hours are negotiable and salary competitive and dependant on experience.
Main duties of the job
- Delivering exceptional patient care, including wound management, removal of sutures and staples, performing ECG's, venepuncture, administering immunisations (routine, childhood and travel) and skilled in Woman's health (cervical Cytology, contraception).
- Develop and review audit protocols and process for the practice, effectively utilising the audit cycle.
- Develop, review and implement nursing protocols in conjuction with the partners.
- Support all members of the nursing team and providing guidance when necessary.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Effective time management.
- Ability to work as a team member and autonomously.
- Ability to record accurate clinical notes.
- Ability to work within own scope of practice and understanding when to refer to GP's.
- Knowledge of health promotion strategies.
