Bharani Medical Centre is seeking a dependable Salaried GP to join our established and well-supported practice in Slough. We serve approximately 18,000 patients across three nearby sites and work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team including GP partners, ANPs, pharmacists, first-contact physiotherapists and experienced administrative staff.
This role offers a structured and manageable workload and a majority telephone-first consultation model, allowing clinicians to triage their own lists and arrange face-to-face appointments when clinically appropriate. We utilise Dictate.IT integrated with EMIS to reduce typing and administrative burden.
Sessions are delivered across our nearby Slough sites, with fixed working days agreed in advance and a predictable rota from the outset.
We offer a competitive salary and are seeking a GP for a minimum of 6 sessions per week who is comfortable working within a structured clinical model and supportive team environment.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive primary care to registered patients, managing a mix of acute, chronic and preventative presentations. Consultations are delivered primarily through a telephone-first model where GPs clinically triage their own lists and arrange face-to-face appointments where appropriate.
Duties include reviewing test results and correspondence, managing routine clinical administration, prescribing safely in line with guidelines, and contributing to continuity of care for patients with complex or long-term conditions.
The role also includes undertaking home visits where clinically required and working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team including GP partners, ANPs, pharmacists and first-contact physiotherapists.
Sessions are delivered across our nearby Slough sites, with fixed working days and a predictable rota agreed in advance.

The post-holder will provide comprehensive general medical services to registered patients including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.
Typical duties include:
- Providing high-quality primary care consultations including telephone and face-to-face appointments where clinically appropriate.

- Prescribing safely and cost-effectively in accordance with national and local guidance.
- Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS and associated digital systems.

The practice operates a majority telephone-first consultation model, with clinicians triaging their own patient lists and arranging face-to-face appointments when clinically indicated. Direct booking of face-to-face consultations is limited.
There is no traditional duty doctor system. During peak periods there may occasionally be 12 additional urgent cases, supported by the wider clinical team.
Prescribing and Medicines Management
The post-holder will:
- Prescribe safely in line with clinical guidelines and best practice.
- Contribute to medicines optimisation and repeat prescribing reviews.
- Work collaboratively with the practice pharmacy team to support medication reviews and patient education.
Quality, Governance and Patient Safety
The post-holder will:
- Adhere to clinical governance processes and professional standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement activities and significant event reviews.
- Support the practice in achieving QOF and other contractual requirements.
- Contribute to safeguarding responsibilities relating to children and vulnerable adults.
Education and Professional Development
The post-holder will:
- Participate in the practices protected learning time sessions.
- Access one half-day per month of CPD through the STEPS programme, supported by the local ICB.
- Maintain professional development through appraisal and revalidation.
- Support teaching or supervision of learners such as pharmacists or students where appropriate.
