We are a friendly, patient-focused NHS GP practice in central Slough committed to delivering safe, effective and compassionate care to our local community. We are now seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic practice nurse to join our team.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide a wide range of primary care nursing services, including:
Chronic disease management (e.g., asthma, COPD, hypertension, diabetes)
Childhood and adult immunisations
Cervical cytology
Wound care, dressings and suture removal
Health promotion and patient education
Treatment room duties
ECGs, phlebotomy, blood pressure monitoring
Supporting patients with long-term conditions
Supporting the Nursing Clinical Lead with clinical audits, data collection and quality improvement activities

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse RN with valid NMC registration.
- Evidence of ongoing CPD and revalidation.
- Formal training in immunisations and vaccinations adult & childhood.
- Cervical cytology training and accreditation or willingness to complete.
Desirable
- Diploma Degree in Practice Nursing or equivalent.
- Qualifications in chronic disease management e.g., asthma, COPD, diabetes). evidence of experience
Experience
Essential
- Experience working as a nurse in primary care community or an acute setting
- Competence in immunisations wound care cervical cytology and basic long-term condition reviews
- Ability to manage own clinics independently
- Experience using clinical systems and maintaining accurate clinical records.
Desirable
- Experience working in a GP practice
- Confidence in chronic disease management e.g hypertension asthma COPD diabetes
- Experience with QOF NHS screening programmes and health promotion
- Experience supporting quality improvement or practice audits
