Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated General Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive Practice. We have two sites and a large friendly team consisting of doctors, nurses, health care assistants, advanced clinical practitioners, clinical pharmacists, phlebotomists and administration staff. We are also a teaching practice for nurses, doctors and pharmacists.

  • Salary dependent on experience, Band 5 or Band 6
  • Experience wanted of Diabetes Management
  • Inclusion in the NHS Pension

Main duties of the job

  • Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective and remains within boundaries of competence, and to acknowledge limitations following the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice at all times.
  • Advise patients on general health care with referral to other members of the primary and secondary health care team as necessary

We would like to welcome an experienced RGN Qualified General Practice Nurse who has completed the Fundamentals in General Practice Nursing Course to join our team.

Chronic Disease Management including Diabetes or Respiratory, Childrens Immunisations, Cervical Screening, Travel Health and Wound Management with an understanding of QOF are essential requirements for this role.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently as well as being an excellent team player. The ability to work under pressure is essential.

EMIS Web experience would be desirable but not essential as full training would be given.
