Job summary
Kings Medical Centre is an established, patientfocused
GP practice committed to delivering high-quality healthcare within our
community. As part of our ongoing commitment to innovation and evidencebased
practice, we are expanding our involvement in primary care research. We are
seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Research Nurse or Research Assistant
to support the delivery of clinical research studies conducted within the
practice.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the
heart of primary care research. The successful candidate will play a key role
in coordinating and delivering research projects in line with Good Clinical
Practice GCP, study protocols, and NHS research governance requirements. With the right person we are sure that the initial funding for a fixed term one year contract will continue into year 2 and year 3.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the identification and recruitment of eligible patients for research studies.
- Conducting patient visits, assessments, and consent processes within scope of practice.
- Collecting, recording, and managing research data accurately and securely.
- Liaising with patients, clinicians, study sponsors, and research networks.
- Maintaining high standards of documentation and compliance.
- Assisting with study setup, monitoring, and close-down activities.
- Contributing to the development of a research active culture within the practice.

We are a medium size practice based in Buckhurst hill, Essex. With around 8000 patients we have been leading the way with patient access in our local network of practices. Run with passion, every team member plays their part and are proud to work in the practice
As well as adopting new ways of working over the last three years to improve patient experience we continue to play our part in educating GP's of the future. We are a base for first year and final year medical students and a team of resident doctors.
The practice has a long history of clinical research within our local area and we have just won a research infrastructure grant which will enable us to improve our site and enable us to bid for commercial research studies
