Job summary

About the Role

As a key member of our nursing team, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to patients across a wide range of clinical areas. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will work autonomously, while also collaborating with our GPs, ANPs, HCAs, and multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care.

Main duties of the job

  • Undertake patient consultations, including assessments and personalised care planning.
  • Support longterm condition management, with opportunities to develop or utilise respiratory expertise (e.g., asthma/COPD reviews).
  • Deliver immunisations, vaccinations, cervical screening, and opportunistic health promotion.
  • Embed population health management approaches and help reduce health inequalities.
  • Provide routine nursing care in line with NICE, NSF, and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Participate in clinical audits, research projects, and the development of clinical protocols.
  • Recognise professional boundaries and refer appropriately.
  • Support delivery of enhanced services and contribute to practice targets (including QOF).
  • Provide wound care, travel health advice, venepuncture, ECGs, and new patient medicals.
  • Maintain accurate SNOMED-coded clinical records.
  • Assist with complaints handling and learning from incidents.
  • Champion safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Lead public health campaigns (e.g., flu clinics).
  • Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment.
  • Chaperone patients and support with clinical emergencies when required.
  • Work collaboratively with external services to support vulnerable patients.

  • Chronic disease management experience
  • Interest in respiratory care, with training or willingness to train
  • Autonomy in clinical practice
  • Strong infection prevention and control understanding
  • Competence in wound care, venepuncture, immunisations, ECGs, cervical cytology, and general clinical skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding, QOF, enhanced services, and GP operations
  • Effective communication with patients and colleagues
  • Good clinical IT systems skills and accurate record keeping
