Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly GP Practice. You will provide high-quality care, manage a broad range of clinical presentations, and work both independently and as part of our supportive team.

Salary: Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. Days and hours of work are flexible.

Main duties of the job

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will deliver patient care independently, within their professional scope of practice, through both in-person consultations and home visits.

The post holder will apply their expertise as a qualified Advanced Health Care Professional to independently manage patient caseloads, including treatment planning, referrals, admissions, and discharges, ensuring safe and effective care throughout.

Job responsibilities

  • Independently assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic conditions

  • Conduct face-to-face consultations and home visits within scope of practice

  • Prescribe medications and refer patients to appropriate services when necessary

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with active Nursing and Midwifery Council registration
  • Masters degree in Advanced Clinical Practice - required for qualifications obtained after December 2020, in line with RCN Credentialing standards
  • Postgraduate diploma or degree in Advanced Practice - accepted for qualifications obtained up to December 2020
  • Qualified Independent Nurse Prescriber, listed on the NMC register
  • Fully compliant with NMC revalidation requirements as outlined in the NMC Revalidation booklet
  • Demonstrates competence and meets the standards expected of a registered ANP working at an advanced level
  • Accredited Minor Illness qualification
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle for home visits
  • Good Knowledge of EMIS

Experience

  • Experience of prescribing and undertaking medication reviews
  • Experience of working in a primary care environment
  • Understanding of the importance of evidence-based practice
  • Broad knowledge of clinical governance
  • Ability to record accurate clinical notes
