About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, organised and compassionate individual to support the smooth running of our busy GP surgery. This role involves providing high-quality support to our patients and the wider practice team, contributing to our ongoing commitment to delivering outstanding care to our local community. 30 hours per week (five days per week).
Key responsibilities may include (depending on final role structure):
- Supporting patients both face-to-face and over the telephone
- Managing administrative and reception tasks
- Processing appointment requests, prescriptions, and patient queries
- Working collaboratively with GPs, nurses and administrative colleagues
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring confidentiality at all times
- Using clinical systems to support the day-to-day running of the practice

Clinical Duties
- Conduct clinical & structured medication reviews
- Manage patients with chronic diseases (e.g., hypertension, Type 2 diabetes, asthma, COPD)
- Support polypharmacy reviews, frailty and those with complex comorbidities
- Provide expert medicines advice and respond to clinical queries
- Support safe prescribing systems, acute prescription requests, repeat prescriptions and medicines reconciliation
- Use EMIS Web and ICB templates to support safe clinical practice
- Provide leadership on medicines optimisation, antimicrobial stewardship, QOF and enhanced services
- Support quality improvement, clinical audits, and prescribing safety initiatives
- The right candidate will be supported to further their education and qualifications and develop areas of special interest / expertise

- Improve QOF domains and disease registers
- Lead on prescription management processes
- Work closely with local pharmacies and admin staff to ensure safe systems and monitoring are maintained.
