St Nicolas Medical Centre is a growing branch site with a steadily increasing patient population. We are creating a new Assistant Practice Manager role to support this growth and strengthen our day to day operations.
You will play a key role in running a busy NHS general practice. You will manage staff, rotas, reception and administration workflows, and support QOF and CQC delivery. You will work closely with the Practice Manager, Finance Manager, and GP Partners, with real involvement in service development and practice improvement.

Main duties of the job
The main duties include supporting the day to day management of the practice, managing staff and rotas, overseeing reception and administrative workflows, and ensuring safe and efficient service delivery. The role involves supporting QOF, CQC compliance, audits, policies, and operational reporting.
You will work closely with the Practice Manager, Finance Manager, and GP Partners, and coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
This role will also involve covering reception for team buidling and to ensure continuity of service and smooth running of the practice.

Role purpose.Support the effective day to day running of a growing NHS general practice branch site. Ensure services are safe, well organised, and compliant. Contribute to operational delivery, staff management, and practice development.
Key duties and responsibilities.
Practice operations. Support daily operational management of the practice. Ensure smooth running of reception and administrative services. Actively cover reception when required to maintain service continuity. Manage workflows, task allocation, and escalation processes. Support implementation of practice policies and SOPs.

Finance and performance support. Work with the Finance Manager on performance targets and activity monitoring. Support efficient use of resources and administrative processes. Assist with claims, enhanced services administration, and monitoring.
Working relationships. Report to the Practice Manager for administrative matters. Work closely with the Finance Manager on finance and targets. Coordinate with GP Partners on operational and clinical priorities. Liaise with PCN, ICB, and external stakeholders as required.
