This role is integral to ensuring that the practice provides an outstanding level of nursing care relevant to the practice population (NHS and Private).. This role is an opportunity to work in an innovative Primary Care setting,

Job responsibilities
- To ensure Healthcare assistant clinics are covered across the London clinics as per the needs of the business.
- To act in a professional manner at all times and adhere to practice level local and national guidelines, policies and protocols.
- To maintain a safe and effective level of practice and to bring any deficits in training and education to the nursing team lead so that these can be addressed.
- Work as an effective team member.
- To provide continuing care to patients across the whole practice population
- Maintain effective communication with patients, carers, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team ensuring information is shared appropriately and confidentially so patient needs are met in accordance with NHS directives and safeguarding policies (DH 2003; DH 2010)
- Urinalysis
- Simple Wound care
- Removal of sutures and clips
- Administration of Vitamin B12, Flu and Pneumococcal vaccinations, working under Patient Specific directions (PSD)
- Spirometry if trained and competent to undertake these
- Long term condition management reviews as applicable
- Assisting in emergency situations with patients
- Acting as a Chaperone, when required
- Assisting Nursing team or GPs when required
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
- Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Administrative duties:
- Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
- Vaccine and cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
- Checking emergency equipment and medicines and updating records
- Stock monitoring and ordering (including clinical supplies and leaflets)
- Ensuring patients are appropriately followed up
- Being proactively involved in Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF) call and recall of patients
- Liaising with and assisting members of the administrative team
- Follow infection Prevention and Control Guidelines
- Maintains own clinical notes
- Maintains confidentiality
- Undertakes other administrative duties where required- specifically with document processing
- Participate in practice audit
- Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
- Support and participate in shared learning within the practice
- Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
- Ensure clinical rooms have adequate stock
Other tasks include:
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment in line with infection control policy.
- Ensure clinic rooms are adequately maintained including stocking and rotating items as required.
- Attend and participate in any practice meetings when required
