Job summary

Alpine House Surgery is looking to recruit a Prescribing Paramedic or Advanced Nurse Practitioner for 6-8 sessions to support our existing GP, Paramedic and Nursing Team. Sessions and salary are negotiable dependent on experience.

We are based in Mountsorrel, a large village situated close to Bradgate and Beacon Hill country parks equidistant from Loughborough and Leicester with close transport links to M1 and M69

Main duties of the job

Ideally, you will be an independent prescriber, or working towards this, able to deal with a wide range of acute on the day clinical conditions and be able to work autonomously whilst remembering the team is there to support you when needed!

Chronic condition management is desirable but not mandatory.

We encourage staff to learn from and support each other and you will take part in clinical meetings, MDTs and clinical education sessions.

We are looking for someone who shares our vision for improving and sustaining General Practice and can work well within our practice team

We are a strong partnership team with supportive and pro-active Practice Management and a commitment to the provision of high-quality healthcare.

Doctors have specialist interests in Dermatology and Minor Surgery, joint injection and sexual and reproductive health, and training.

We are a teaching practice with a list size of 9300 patients.

Our team consists of 3 partners, 2 salaried GPs, 2 Paramedics and a team of nurses and experienced support staff. We also work with a PCN attached staff including Pharmacists, a Mental Health Facilitator, and Social Prescribers.

Rated as Good in all areas of CQC.

Job Summary:

The role will provide a specialist Paramedic resource for Health Care Professionals and service users, working in collaboration with other members of the GP Practice.

The role will involve working as an autonomous, accountable Paramedic, in the provision of a holistic approach for individuals including assessment, diagnosis and treatment to deliver quality patient services.

The post holder will use advanced clinical skills to provide education to patients and service users, promoting self-care and empower them to make informed choices about their treatment.

The post holder will assess, diagnose, treat, refer, or signpost patients and or service users who attend the surgery with undifferentiated or undiagnosed conditions relating to minor illness or minor injury. The post holder will coordinate telephone triage, taking clinical responsibility for all patients who have requested an urgent appointment.
