Downton Surgery are looking for a Salaried GP to
join our dispensing Practice in Downton, Wiltshire.
Downton Surgery is an established village Practice
in Downton, Wiltshire with a patient list of 7000. We are looking for a GP
colleague to join our team who has experience managing their own patient list,
a caring and committed approach to patient care and the ability to work
independently and within a team.
We are looking to recruit for 6 clinical sessions and
offer competitive terms with regards to salary and work pattern flexibility.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a GP colleague to join our rural surgery team. The ideal candidate will have experience within a Primary Care setting and a good understanding of how we operate.
- Will hold a proportionate size patient list
- Will be able to manage a same day call list for our triage patients
- Will work alongside other Clinicians within the Surgery.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Surgery Consultations, triaging calls as appropriate, occasional home visiting and administration associated with patient care.
Work as a team member with all relevant providers of primary and community care services within the practice.
Ensure appropriate records are maintained at all times regarding patient care.
Engage with the Practice Management Team to ensure good QOF & IIF outcomes.
Participate in care planning and multi-disciplinary meetings.
Attend team and healthcare meetings when required
Other responsibilities within the Practice:
- Maintain confidentiality of the practice at all times.
- Work in accordance with and comply with all practice policies and procedures/guidelines. E.g. health and safety, prescribing, GDPR, and assist in their development.
- Fulfil any monitoring requirements attached to the post as required.
- Actively participate in clinical governance within the practice as required.
- Maintain and develop individual skills and knowledge. Committed to lifelong learning.
- Attend training and events organised by the practice or external agencies where appropriate.
