Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Receptionist to join our established team. The role is ideal for someone who is reliable, flexible, a team player and enjoys working with the public. We require our reception team to work with autonomy and a high degree of confidentiality, sensitivity, discretion, empathy and tact.
Main duties of the job
Your main duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, patient registration, booking appointments, processing of information (electronic and hard copy),assisting patients as required, answering the phones, administering repeat prescriptions and general everyday administration duties.
You will be the central point of contact for patients and we need someone who can provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

Greeting patients and dealing with all general enquiries. Explaining procedures to new patients joining the practice. Handling repeat prescriptions and processing incoming and outgoing mail (electronic or hard copy).
Process appointment requests for the day and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
Amend
and cancel appointments in line with the practice appointment procedures
ensuring optimum efficiency of the appointment system (SystmOne TPP).
Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of details and prompt appropriate delivery.
Assist with opening and closing the surgery by clearing and restocking consulting room after surgeries.
Keeping the reception area, notice boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstruction and clutter.
