Practice Nurse
We are seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly General Practice team. This part time role up to 32 hours, negotiable, offers a very competitive salary, generous annual leave, and access to the NHS Pension Scheme.
Experience working within General Practice is essential. The successful candidate will be confident and competent in:
- Chronic disease management
- Childhood vaccination delivery and administration
- Health promotion
- Cervical screening
- Contraception services

Main duties of the job
The Practice Nurse will independently assess and manage the nursing needs of patients, providing safe and effective care in line with Practice policies and national protocols.
Key responsibilities include delivering general nursing care such as wound assessment and management, ear irrigation, chaperoning, ECGs, hypertension management, immunisations, travel health advice, cervical screening, womens health services, health education, and providing telephone advice.
The role also includes supporting chronic disease management by running dedicated clinics for example for diabetes, asthma/COPD, coronary heart disease, spirometry and stroke/TIA and maintaining appropriate recall systems. The nurse will work collaboratively with the wider primary care team, contribute to training and support of colleagues, and ensure accurate recordkeeping in patient notes and clinical templates. Maintaining NMC registration and meeting revalidation requirements is essential.
