Healthcare Assistant

Job summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being while assisting healthcare professionals in delivering effective treatment. This position requires a proactive individual who is committed to enhancing the patient experience and supporting the overall operations of our healthcare facility.

Main duties of the job

• Phlebotomy duties.
• Setting up the ECG machine to take ECGs and making sure that they have been analysed by a GP.
• Carrying out blood pressure checks
• To advise patients on health care, minor ailments, health promotion and illness prevention.
• To support the nursing team
• To undertake basic wound care and suture/clip removal, assisting the nurses.
• To undertake NHS Health checks
• To administer flu, pneumonia, and B12 injections having been adequately trained.
• To ensure that fridge temperatures are regularly monitored.
• To maintain high standards of tidiness, hygiene and safety in the use of all equipment and areas of work, in line with the Practice Health and Safety policy, Infection Control Policy as well as all other Practice policies and procedures.
• To undertake any additional duties as may from time to time be deemed necessary, including working across sites.
• To attend course and study days as required or thought necessary to maintain high standards and to record these as part of continuing professional development. (These may be in the evenings and weekends).
