Are you an organised and attentive to detail professional with interest in analysing clinical records and applying specific guidelines to select the right codes? Are you tech-savvy and able to navigate clinical systems to help in making a difference in people's lives? Then you might just be the perfect candidate for this role.

Interviews will be held on the 18th of March 2026 at Clifton Court Medical Practice.

Main duties of the job

  • Access the SystmOne clinical system and code incoming patient correspondence.
  • Read through documents/letters and code the appropriate codes into patient records.
  • Triage these and determine if they should be forwarded to GP/other medical professional for action.

We have around 12,000 patients and are a training practice and so support trainee doctors and medical students on a regular basis.

Job responsibilities

  • Accurately code clinical data using SNOMED codes, adhering to practice guidelines.
  • Review, interpret and code incoming patient correspondence.
  • Liaise with clinicians to resolve coding queries.
  • Follow specified clinical pathways and processes.
  • Enter data into patient records in accordance with QOF and CQC standards.
  • Identify and flag discrepancies or missing information.
  • File and add relevant data from third-party correspondence into patient records.
  • Monitor and action data related tasks within the clinical system.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patients' information.
  • Assist with summarising new patient records.
  • Ensure coding accuracy and resolve any data issues.
