Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse to join our team in this large, patient focused, friendly teaching GP Practice based in Princes Risborough and Chinnor. Strong nursing skills together with the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment is essential to this role. Applicants should be post registration of 1 year minimum.

Experience in Primary Care and Asthma/COPD is desirable but not essential as training will be provided to the right candidate. Interest in further training and personal development is vital.

Informal visits are encouraged and welcomed prior to application.

Job responsibilities

The Practice nurse will be part of the nursing team responsible for ensuring that the practice provides an optimum service of nursing care relevant to the practice population. The focus of the role is both the delivery of evidence-based practice for patients presenting with a long term condition, and the provision of preventative health care alongside the day to day duties required, providing a general nursing service to the practice population. The role requires initiative and good judgement and will be supported by other clinicians such as GPs and Nurse Practitioners.

The role also requires the practice nurse to take a strategic role within primary care team creating links with other community health providers as required and to provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors.

As an autonomous practitioner the nurse is responsible for the care deliered, demonstrating critical thinking and skills in clinical decision-making in the management of patients. They will work collaboratively within the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, support the delivery of policy and procedures, and provide nurse leadership as required
